Another beautiful, partly cloudy day in Chiang Rai — perfect for golf! We had some substantial rain over the last 24 hours, but it really did not affect the course, which remains in pretty good condition, with only a few sandy spots on the tees and a few slightly bumpy greens.
We had eight players today: six members and two friends (Robert and Will). It was Bob Geldof’s birthday, sponsored by Leo, so for a change of pace we played our standard skins game from the white tees. After the round, Leo bought us all lunch, and Graham and 5Points brought a couple of birthday cakes in honor of Bob Geldof and Leo, who shares a birthday with Bob — who knew?
SInce today was a Buddhist holiday and there are no liquor sales, Leo said he was going to stay home and watch cartoon movies. Enjoy, Leo! Happy Birthday!
Here are the results:
- Winner: Marc (40 points)
- Runner Up: Robert (39 points)
Closest to the pins:
- Hole 3: Will
- Hole 7: Graham
- Hole 12: Bruce G
- Hole 17: Leo (who got a hole-in-one on this hole on this very day last year)
